We frequently get asked about the interior of our custom cabinetry. Normally we only post the nice minimalist pictures with all the doors on the cabinets in the closed position. The reality is that it's the "guts" of the cabinetry that do the heavy lifting day in and day out. One of the advantages to custom cabinetry beyond the exterior finishes are all of the options now available to maximize space on the interior. Studio Build is currently fabricating the 8th set of kitchen cabinets and we have learned that buying the best hardware available is money well spent in the long run. We use Blum hardware exclusively and they have made a number of changes and improvements over the past 2 years. Most people are familiar with the blum metal drawer boxes because they are used in most of Ikea's cabinets. Having assembled, installed, and "hacked" our fair share of Ikea, the hardware may look similar but it is a bit less sturdy and a few generations older than what we are currently using. Here are some shots of the Runnells Residence showing the storage capability.
