Nate Adolf, Architect
Nate grew up in Akron, Colorado. Akron is a small farming and ranching community in Northeastern Colorado. Nate's love of construction sent him to Goodland, Kansas. He he attended a one year Carpentry course and a two year Technical Drafting course. This education landed him his first job as an Architectural Draftsman at Landmark Archtiects and Engineers in Hutchinson, Kansas. After 5 years of experience he wanted to further his education to become an Architect.
In August of 2000, Nate began his professional education at Kansas State Universtiy. While studying at KSU he was fortunate to have the opportunity to study abroad in Italy and Peru. Upon graduating with his Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2005, he headed to Montana.
Nate worked with Kirk Michels, Architect, for five years. He worked as an Intern Architect and Project Manager in Livingston, Montana. He learned the ropes of high end rustic and log architecture in Big Sky country. He learned to love the area and outdoor activities Montana provides like fly fishing and skiiing! In late 2009 a tough economy forced a relocation to the Kansas City area.
In late 2009 he found himself working in a two car garage building Modern furniture with Jerad Foster in Kansas City. The rest is Studio Build history! Kansas City has been treated Nate well. It was a city he avoided, prefering smaller more rual parts of the country. After living here a few years he realizes how much he loves Kansas City and the opportunities it has provided him. Not only has he had the opportunity to work with great friends who are tallented designers and craftsmen, it has provided him with his wife Jodi!
